Easter Monday Description
The second day of Orthodox Easter, an official public holiday across Greece providing a gentler continuation of Easter Sunday's celebrations. Families gather for more relaxed meals, often finishing leftovers from the previous day's feast, or take excursions to the countryside and seaside. It is known as Bright Monday or Renewal Monday in Orthodox tradition. Government offices, banks, and most businesses remain closed. The day serves as a bridge from the intense liturgical and social activities of Easter back toward daily life, and many use it as the final day of the long holiday weekend.
