🎉 How It's Celebrated
The signature custom is dauwtrappen: groups of friends and families set out before sunrise on bicycles or on foot through dew-covered fields and forests, in the Veluwe, Drenthe, or along the coast, often ending at a pancake house for breakfast. Many use the Thursday as a bridge day to extend the weekend, booking cottages in Zeeland or trips to neighboring Belgium and Germany. Churches hold morning services, and villages stage spring fairs and processions.
