Songkran Festival (Day 3) Description
The final day of Songkran celebrations, gradually winding down from the exuberant water fights of the previous days. In Bangkok, the Bang Rak and Bang Phli districts host traditional Mon-style Songkran parades and cultural shows. The Miss Songkran pageants in various provinces crown winners who represent traditional Thai beauty. Temples continue to welcome worshippers for merit-making activities. Government offices, banks, and most businesses remain closed. The day marks the conclusion of the Thai New Year period, with many people preparing to return to work after the extended break. The streets, though less crowded than the previous days, still echo with splashing water and laughter as the country bids farewell to the old year and welcomes the new with thoroughly cleansed spirits and renewed family bonds.
